amoung youth in the Upper Merion Area. You can help us make a difference in the lives of Upper Merion Area youth by lending your expertise to the Alliance.

CAST Committees

Program and Resource Committee
Program and Resource is responsible for leading the Alliance and Steering Committee efforts to attract the funding needed to carry out the prevention efforts as established by the priority risk factors that the community identifies by the Risk and Reource Assessment and the Pennsylvania Youth Survey (PAYS). Program and Resource is responsible for on-going research, comparing and contrasting current programs, filling in the gaps where CAST can be optimally effective in Upper Merion Area prevention efforts.

Risk and Resource Committee
Risk and Resource is responsible for the planning, coordination, and reporting of the PAYS. In addition to the survey, this committee will work hard to get a varied and large population across many sectors to complete the community profile analysis, compilation, and reporting. Risk and Resource will also help the Steering committee in the prioritization of risk factors.

Education and Marketing Committee
Education and Marketing is responsible for improving awareness of CAST and promoting a positive image of CAST in the community by planning and monitoring public relations and publicity activities. Education and Marketing will develop drug, alcohol, and violence reducation and prevention messages and strategies, mainly through the Social Marketing campaign.

Youth Committee
Youth is responsible for engaging middle and high school age youth in the mission of CAST in a variety of in school and out of school activities. The Youth committee will develop opportunities for pro-social involvement as well as conduct prevention efforts. Youth Committee may conduct outreach and education activities in the schools and community, fundraising activities, and others as they deem necessary to advance CAST's goals.
